Bring Down the Sky Available
The downloadable content "Bring Down the Sky" for the PC version of Mass Effect is now available. You should go download it and play it. Did I mention that it's free? More importantly, it's fun.

The first Mass Effect update is available now. You can download it at BioWare's Mass Effect site: http://masseffect.bioware.com/pc/updates/index.html.
Tim,
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm one of those people who can't play for more than a few minutes before the game locks up. I've been through tech support and all that so I have to just wait for the next patch.
The first patch seemed to mostly be about adding BDtS and a few cosmetic things. So I assume you guys are plugging away on a big one for stability.
Good luck!
Dr:
BioWare is handling all the technical support. I know that the Mass Effect forums are a good resource. I assume you have made a post there?
Tim,
Yes I have (several). So you guys are not working on a patch? Bioware is? Or is this considered *wrapped up*.
Thanks!
Helloooo?
Anyone there?
I've trolled this blog for far too long, I just don't think they want to fix our game.
dr, tyler:
Demiurge very much appreciates you checking our website. For any questions relating to Mass Effect for the PC, the correct venues are the BioWare forums or EA technical support.
Finally, after no help from either of your suggestions, you close the door. Tis a sad day for bioware customers.
Hope mass effect 2 is ported by a more customer-friendly studio.
Add me to the list of people who posted in the Mass-Effect forums due to persistent crashes.
I don't know if the problems are due to the Unreal Tech, or something specific to the code in Mass Effect, but the result is the same. The game is far from being enjoyable.
Basically for me, playing the game means:
- Reboot the machine
- Kill most of my residents (MSN, Skype, Avast, calendar, etc...)
- Then only I can run the game.
Of course, does not mean that after 30 minutes to one and a half hour it will freeze on a loading screen or display a Render Error message box. At this point there is nothing I can do except reboot the PC, because Windows is then broken beyond salvation.
I tried to update Direct X, my Nvidia drivers as well...
So yeah, a patch this game needs.
