Greetings! Today I’m going to write a bit about the creation and implementation of Colossus in Marvel Puzzle Quest. Characters can be complex - they need to tell their own story through their abilities, in a resonant way that the player can connect with. One lunch break a week, the Hearthstone players here at Demiurge have to find something else to do. Hey folks, we have a very nice update for MPQ on its way!

First, a few minor updates:

  • Team-Up selections are now persistent between battles.
  • Countdown tiles placed by Team-Up abilities will no longer be cleared when a character is downed.
  • The Train button in roster management glows when you have enough Iso-8 to level the selected character.

Team-Ups allow three additional characters to fight by your side and deliver a well-timed punch! (Or blast or storm or snarky remark...) Team-Ups replace Environment tiles and open up new gameplay strategies for players of all levels.
