Rock Band Metal Track Pack Out!



We're turning it up to 11 with our latest release, Rock Band: Metal Track Pack. Harmonix tapped our motley crew again to bring this title to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Wii. We packed in 20 "face-melting" metal songs from the past and present.

Mass Effect: Pinnacle Station Out Now!


Demiurge and Bioware joined forces to create Mass Effect's second installment of downloadable content: Pinnacle Station. Available on PC and Xbox 360, Pinnacle Station allows Commander Shepard and squadmates to participate in a series of simulated combat experiences. In four different combat modes in twelve replayable missions, Shepard must prove his worth in the battlefield. This new content is all about replayable missions and experimentation - try out different squad and weapon combinations, earn high scores, and become the top competitor in Pinnacle Station.

Rock Band: Country Track Pack Released, Y'all!


Rock Band Country Track Pack is out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Wii! Harmonix tapped Demiurge's team to bring the Country Track Pack to the four consoles. Get your twang in tune, because there are 21 country songs that "you and your gang" can play in this standalone title. With artists like Kenny Rogers, Dixie Chicks, and Shania Twain, there's a broad mix of country songs, over half of which are new to the Rock Band platform.

Borderlands Announcement

Tons of new Borderlands info was announced at E3 and in the June issue of PC Gamer magazine. Along with the new look, they announced the multiplayer versus portion of the game. Demiurge was responsible for initially developing this mode, creating a competitive experience within the Borderlands world.

Adding new features was a relatively fast process (we had a functional PvP mode within a week of starting the project!), but the biggest challenge was in the iterative and extremely nebulous process of "finding the fun." This consisted mostly of weapon and player balance and creating finely tuned greybox maps. Then, we played the hell out of them, gathered tons of feedback, and produced two polished arena maps. We even created a transition sequence from the co-op/single player game into the arena, with an elevator, an interactive lobby, and flashy mechanized weapon racks.

It was a great project to work on, and as fans of the game ourselves, we're eagerly anticipating the release!

WordFu Release!

HIYAH! WordFu, for the iPhone and iPod touch has been released!

WordFu is a dice-based word game with some spicy Kung Fu action. Demiurge partnered with ngmoco to make WordFu. It isn't your standard word game - it has special power-up dice, high score leaderboards, WordFu Belts for achievements, and competitive WiFi multiplayer.

It was a blast to make, and is a blast to play! WordFu is now available in the Apple App Store, and for a limited time it’s only $0.99! It's already getting great reviews from critics, and currently has a 4.5 star rating in the App Store.

Mass Effect for the PC has gone gold! The discs are being manufactured as we speak!

Mass Effect For The PC Readies For Launch

BioWare announced today that the award-winning action role-playing game (RPG) Mass Effect for PC, published by Electronic Arts, has gone into manufacturing. Mass Effect will be available in North America on May 28, 2008 and June 6, 2008 to European retailers.

Demiurge and BioWare Team up to Bring Mass Effect to the PC

It's official:

Demiurge and BioWare have teamed up to bring the award-winning title Mass Effect to the PC, now fully optimized for the PC. The team has added gameplay and performance enhancements in our effort to deliver the best version possible to the PC audience.

Demiurge began working with BioWare during the final stretch of development for the Xbox 360 version, allowing the studios to collaborate closely throughout the co-development process. Mass Effect has been tailored to feel natural to the PC user while staying true to the original game experience. Mass Effect for the PC features a third command wheel so players can access squad members separately, a new inventory system, customized key mapping and a brand new minigame. Extra attention was focused on visuals, offering higher resolution graphics for an enhanced gaming experience for the PC.

We're Moving!

The official press release is below...but the short version is:

To our own surprise, we don't fit into the space we moved into less than two years ago. Trying to pick up and move an entire game company is no easy task and Demiurge doesn't do anything normally. Exciting times are ahead filled with fancy (or not fancy) new desks, countless broken desk chotchke, and fun new wall colors.

We'd love to hear people's suggestions about what we can do with the space. Do you have something in your current office that you adore? Do you have an idea that people tell you is too crazy? Maybe we'll adopt it.
