Art Positions
Senior Artist
Demiurge Studios is searching for a talented artist with experience, skills and vision. Artists at Demiurge are expected to contribute to development at every stage, from initial concept to asset creation to final polish in a level. Qualified candidates will easily adapt to different project styles and work well with a team of artists and designers. Our dream candidate will challenge our team, bring new processes and energy to the company, and raise our internal art bar. Primary Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Demiurge art efforts at every stage of production
- Critique artwork constructively and raise our internal artistic bar
- Use 3DStudio Max, Photoshop and industry tools to create convincing, startling art
- Estimate, schedule and deliver art assets in a production environment
- Share and encourage knowledge distribution for art techniques and tools
Qualifications:
- Experience working on current platforms is required
- Excellent personal, written and oral communication skills
- Skilled with industry tools
- Team player with a commitment to personal and peer development
- Demonstrated ability to work in and match a range of styles
- Experience mentoring and developing junior artists
- Strong sense of color/lighting/composition

Senior UI Artist
Demiurge Studios is seeking a talented artist with a passion for user interface design. This person should be an innovative UI visionary with a wide range of artistic and stylistic abilities. You will drive the interface design for multiple game titles and have an impact on every project in the studio. If you care about the user’s experience from the very first splash screen all the way through the ending credits…then we’d love to talk with you!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design & create static and animated user interfaces for video games to be shipped on the 360, PS3, PC and iOS platforms
- Execute UI design with a keen eye for detail at all levels - attend to the overarching screen-to-screen UI placement as well as the border treatment in an achievement icon
- Work independently and collaboratively with team members to solve UI challenges
- Quickly mockup & communicate design intents in a fast paced, highly iterative development environment
- Accurately estimate your work and expected development times while making smart tradeoffs between quality and pace
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of professional experience designing interfaces for games
- Expert user of industry standard tools including Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
- Experience designing screen flows for console, PC and/or iOS titles
- A thorough understanding of visual and textual communication principles
- Comfortable giving and receiving work critiques in open sessions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for creating high quality user experiences in a team setting
Preference to applicants with:
- Experience developing Flash interfaces rendered by Scaleform
- Credit on titles shipped for the 360 or PS3 and localized for EFIGS

Senior Level Designer

QA Positions
QA Tester
We’re looking for diligent, motivated individuals to join our QA team. Our ideal candidate is a team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work easily with other Testers, Engineers, and Designers. With a demonstrated affinity for all game genres and high internal standards of quality, you will be responsible for the continued improvement of our products.
We need organized, perceptive testers who can find bugs and help us make our work better. If you love playing games and would like to contribute to our industry, there could be a spot for you on our team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to test, identify bugs, and polish their work
- Contribute to and help maintain an project Bug Database
- Ensure that our games meet our internal/external quality goals
- Verify bug fixes and monitor active/live issues
- Maintain the overall quality of products

Engineering Positions
Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Work closely with art and design to understand and define game features and system requirements
- Author and publish technical design documents for the team which specify what will be developed and how
- Provide time estimates and development plans for feature development
- Implement, test, debug and maintain source code
- Provide ongoing technical support to art and design
- Track your development progress and keep production management well-informed
- Think creatively and work proactively to solve any blocking issues for yourself and your teammates
- Deliver high quality, functional systems on time and to specification
- Review the work of other engineers and provide constructive guidance in a highly collaborative environment
- Make educated trade-offs among scope, quality and pace.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2+ years game industry experience
- Engineering credits on one or more shipped titles for 360 or PS3 consoles
- Strong C++ programming and software architecture skills
- BS or higher in Computer Science or similar discipline (Physics, Math, EE, etc.)
- Experience developing software for one or more of the following systems: Physics, Animation, Graphics, Networking, Gameplay, AI, UI, Audio
- A strong background in 3D math, trigonometry and linear algebra

Network Software Engineer
We’re looking for an outstanding Network Software Engineer to join our team! As a Network Software Engineer you’ll connect the games we make to exciting online play-spaces through collaboration with other engineers, artists, and designers. You’ll design high-level protocols and implement them in support of gameplay features. You will also optimize low-level networking systems for games that must work given bandwidth, latency, and packet loss specifications. Join our team as the official Destroyer of Lag!
Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high quality, functional systems on time and to specification
- Review the work of other engineers and provide constructive guidance in a highly collaborative environment
- Keep abreast of technological advances in the game industry and within your field(s) of specialty
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2+ years game industry experience
- Worked as a network programmer on at least one shipped title with online multiplayer features for 360 and PS3 consoles
- Possesses an in depth understanding of network architectures and protocols
- Expert C++ programming and software architecture skills
- BS or higher in Computer Science or similar discipline (EE, Math, Physics, etc.)
- Experience programming & optimizing for bandwidth usage, latency tolerance and packet loss
- Programmed systems for a multithreaded engine
- A strong background in 3D math, trigonometry and linear algebra
- Able to dive into large codebases, debug problems, and implement minimally invasive solutions
- Has a passion for games and plays them regularly
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Has outside interests!
